The 33rd IUPAP General Assembly Concluded Successfully

The 33rd IUPAP General Assembly concluded successfully on October 14th in Haikou, Hainan Province, China. Co-hosted by the Chinese Physical Society and IUPAP, the conference was held in a hybrid format combining online and in-person sessions, with representatives from 26 countries attending the on-site meetings over a 7-day period. The event, in conjunction with the 2024CPS Fall Meeting, featured the Women in Physics Working Group Meeting/Roundtable, the IUPAP Public Lecture: Nobel Prize in Physics Special Session, and the IUPAP Special Symposium on Physics Research for a Sustainable Earth.
The convening of this high-level international conference has significantly enhanced mutual understanding between China and the international physics community, notably elevating the international status and image of Chinese physicists. It plays a vital role in promoting broader international exchanges and collaborations for Chinese scientists, facilitating deeper involvement in international decision-making processes, and advancing the development of the field of physics.
