2023-11-22

"The '2023 China Women Physicists' Touring Lecture-Jiangsu-Zhejiang Tour' event was held from October 23rd to 27th, 2023. The event was organized by the Women Physicists Committee of the Chinese Physical Society. Sixteen female physicists from the committee delivered a total of 32 lectures on the forefront of physics at three universities, including Zhejiang University, Nanjing University, and Southeast University, as well as five high schools, including Hangzhou Second High School, Haining Senior High School, Liyang Middle School, Jiangsu Guanghua Middle School, and Nanjing Normal University Affiliated Middle School. Additionally, eight discussion sessions were organized.

During the discussion sessions, the female physicists patiently answered various questions raised by students, including those related to studying, living, pursuing postgraduate education, job hunting, and life choices. They encouraged everyone to leverage their strengths, be proactive, choose a field of study they are interested in, or gradually discover their interests in learning and work. They emphasized the importance of perseverance in pursuing research and engaging in meaningful scientific endeavors. The female physicists served as role models through their actions, explanations, and exemplary conduct, encouraging female students to walk their own paths with optimism, positivity, and confidence, and to become their true selves.

The 'China Women Physicists' Touring Lecture' event was initiated by the Women Physicists Committee of the Chinese Physical Society in 2013. It is held annually with the aim of introducing the current status of female physicists both domestically and internationally, encouraging the active participation of women in physics research, inspiring female university and high school students' interest in physics, and promoting the development of the scientific research careers of female physicists.
